Hele sitt voksne liv har hun tulla med at hun er tjukk, og forsøkt å ikke bry seg om utseendet, men når legen foreslår pustemaske om natta, blir det alvor. Else må ned i vekt. Men hva skal til? Og vil det være et svik mot alle de overvektige som har sett opp til henne? Gjennom ett år og seks episoder forsøker Else og fire andre å få kontroll på vekta. Holder det å telle kalorier og være aktiv, eller må andre grep til? Hva er roten til at fedme er et sterkt økende problem verden over — sitter løsningen i magen, mellom øra, i genene, i samfunnet, eller tilbake i barndommen?

Comedian and TV host Else Kåss Furuseth has it all under control; a successful career, an active social life, and a public image as someone happy in her skin. But one thing she’s been unable to control is her eating, resulting in a high BMI she’s happily made the butt of numerous jokes on TV. She seemed not to care and has tried not to care — but of course she does. She has secretly tried to lose weight a million times without success. Then one day she gets a brutal wake-up call: her doctor recommends her to sleep with a breathing mask or to lose weight. But how to lose weight and how not to fall right back in old patterns? What message is she sending to the many fans who see her as a body positivity role model?
Throughout one year and over six episodes, Else and four others will try to gain control over their own weight. Is it enough to count calories and be active, or are there better roads to success? And what is the root cause of the growing problem with obesity — can it be traced to the stomach or brain, genetics or society, life situation or childhood?
